Introduction to Function

Function

• A Function is a block of code designed to perform some specific task. Functions are a convenient way to divide your code into useful blocks, allowing us to order our code, make it more readable, reuse it and save some time. Also functions are a key way to define interfaces so programmers can share their code.
• In Python, function is a group of related statements that perform a specific task.
• Functions help break our program into smaller and modular chunks. As our program grows larger and larger, functions make it more organized and manageable.

General Format of Function

Function calling

• Once we have defined a function, we can call it from another function,program or even the Python prompt. To call a function we simply type the function name with appropriate parameters.
